Donovan Tate McGauley is in a conundrum: devote his scientific brain to solving the world’s sustainability problems, or grace the runway with stage presence and incredible fashion.

His solution is The Velvey Envoy, a platform that inspires people to take small but meaningful actions to reduce fashion waste in their lives. What started as donating old clothes to thrift stores has evolved into sewing clothes from textile waste and designing a runway show.

The Velvet Envoy is the circular fashion radio show where environment meets culture, trends meet the art of thrift, and artists and scientists come together to discuss our tiny part in the sustainability world.

As he competes on behalf of Kentucky in the Mr. America Global pageant, he plans to empower our community to think creatively and not be afraid to go against the trends.
