They're the community's stories.
We just help tell them.

Ten years ago, community champion Debra Hensley rallied a small group of neighbors around a simple idea:
Lexington deserved its own voice on the airwaves.

Not a corporate voice. Not a distant one. The real thing. Neighbors talking to neighbors. Local voices telling stories that matter.  Not just in English, but in Spanish too.

That idea became RADIOLEX. Then it became something bigger. Today MEDIALEX is a platform for anyone with a story worth telling. Across radio, podcasts, video, local news, and digital media. No experience required. No barriers to entry.

People come to MEDIALEX to host shows, share music, interview neighbors, talk about issues affecting their communities, and report stories that wouldn’t be heard anywhere else.

Our volunteers have produced syndicated radio programs, award-winning podcasts, and transformative journalism that contributed to a Pulitzer Prize.

In July 2026 we launch the MEDIALEX Community Newsroom, the next chapter in a decade of community-created media.

MEDIALEX provides the tools, the training, and the platform. The community provides everything else.

Together we make sure Lexington’s story gets told. Fully, honestly, and by the people who live it.

MEDIALEX amplifies local voices
telling stories that matter
through community-created
news, information, and entertainment.
