MEDIALEX is a public platform for local voices to share stories that matter through community-created news, information, and entertainment.

We provide local news & information in multiple languages through fact-based reporting by trusted members of the community.
We provide entertainment by celebrating the music, art, food, talent, and culture of our community.
We value free speech and offer opportunities for creativity, self-expression, and fearless exchange of ideas.
We champion media literacy by exploring how media shapes ideas, opinions; how people are seen and understood; and guarding against bias and misinformation.
We are a civic resource for the public good existing for the benefit, health, enjoyment, and safety of everyone in our community.

History

MEDIALEX is an expansion of RADIOLEX, Lexington’s community radio station.

Since 2015, we’ve been a platform for public debate, a megaphone for nonprofits, and a forum where local voices shape conversations.

We’re a go-to information resource for residents of our multilingual city. We provide real-time public health & safety information during critical moments when our community needs it most. (During COVID, we broadcast daily updates in the top 10 languages spoken in our community, ensuring no one was left in the dark.)

We train volunteers with little media experience to become skilled content creators. Our volunteers have gone on to produce syndicated radio programs, nationally ranked podcasts, and award-winning journalism that contributed to a Pulitzer Prize.
